How I Live a "Happy" Life

Jun. 16, 2022

Happiness (synonyms: joy, pleasure) is fleeting. It is impossible to be happy during every moment of your life. I do not live a "happy" life. Instead, I choose to live a fulfilling life.

How do I live a fulfilling life?

I participate in activities that:

  1. Are adequately difficult such that I am engaged yet not continuously discouraged.
  2. Provide feedback such that I am able to gauge my progress and correct my approach.
  3. I take pride in, which usually involves improving myself or others.

What if I don't feel like doing difficult things that day? Give up, obviously! Get over it and improve.

How can I trust you? I feel fulfilled every single day of my life. Of course, I am extremely privileged in that I have great relationships with my family and friends; adequate food, water, and shelter; tools I need to succeed such as a computer, a phone, internet connection, paper, etc. Things such as these are often necessary prerequisites for living a fulfilled life. If you have these things like I do, I highly suggest seeking out activities that match the three properties described above.
